ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

This program is a faith-based ministry and made possible by a partnership between River of Life Foundation (ROLF) and the Christian humanitarian organization World Vision. Donated goods from World Vision are distributed by ROLF to families that have been made vulnerable by the COVID-19 pandemic here in the immediate Bay Area. By partnering with organizations in the greater Northern California region, ROLF can reach more families that have been impacted by the pandemic. It is our mission to work with communities and help their families reach their full potential by tackling the effects of poverty and injustice.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE

Churches, Christian organizations, and groups are all encouraged to apply for this program. If your organization is dedicated to helping those in need, we invite you to consider partnering with us. To apply, please fill out the application form attached to the end of this document. On the application, you will find all the requirements, terms, and conditions of our potential partnership. Please send a digital copy of your completed application form to Sam (samloh@theriverflows.org) and Marvin (marvin@theriverflows.org). We will contact you if your organization meets our criteria and qualifies for the Operation Care program.

HOW THIS PROGRAM WORKS

ROLF receives donated goods on a weekly basis through its partnership with World Vision. The products ROLF receives are provided through the relationships World Vision holds with its corporate donors. At the donor’s facilities, all the donations are set onto pallets, secured with shrink wrap, and loaded onto trailers. When these trailers are full, the goods are then delivered to ROLF’s warehouses.

To schedule a pickup, please contact Marvin (marvin@theriverflows.org) at least three days in advance and indicate the number of pallets you plan on picking up. ROLF has a one pallet pickup minimum policy in place; ROLF does not break apart any pallets. When you arrive for your appointment, we will bring out the number of pallets that you have emailed or called in for. You do not have the choice to pick out a specific pallet and its contents - you will receive whatever is brought out to you. Pallets are handed off to you in the same condition as they were received by ROLF. We do not open any of the pallets after receiving shipments from donors. Unless necessary, for example if pallets come falling apart, we must put them back together and rewrap them.

You are responsible for redistributing the goods you take from one of ROLF’s warehouses to the families in need in your communities. After your allocation of pallets has been redistributed, you can renew or upgrade your membership with ROLF. We will then update your membership status accordingly so that you can continue pickup up pallets of goods. As long as your methods of redistribution are within our guidelines and terms of condition, there is no limit in place to the number of times you may renew your membership.

WHAT ARE THE RANGE OF PRODUCTS TO EXPECT?

Nothing is guaranteed but the general range of products includes: household goods, seasonal products, small appliances, kitchenware, diapers, assorted clothing, supplements, furniture, monitors, and more.

WHAT YOU CANNOT DO WITH THIS PROGRAM

ROLF abides by international ACCORD Standards which dictate how organizations utilize donated goods. As such, it is required that all Operation Care partners abide by the same standards. The goods you receive CANNOT be sold, bartered, or traded. If we find that you are in violation of these terms and conditions, we will immediately terminate our partnership. These products are meant to be given to vulnerable families and those affected by the pandemic.

We are unable to take back any of the provided goods or issue any credit. ROLF is not liable for any damaged, unusable, or broken products. You are responsible for the goods and the condition that they're in when you receive the products from ROLF. To avoid sending ROLF products that are damaged, broken, or unusable, our corporate donors are making a large effort to quality control the pallets.
