The Status Report of Sichuan Earthquake Disaster relief

It’s been almost 2 years since the “May 12 Sichuan Earthquake” in 2008. One after another, newly constructed building have been erecting in the rubble. People’s lives have gradually returned to normal. This can be attributed to not only the collaborative efforts by various Chinese government agencies, but also the unrelenting efforts and devotion by countless volunteers and charitable organizations in the past two years.

After the disaster, the River of Life Foundation has been working closely with a civil organization in China. Because of this partnership, we were able to enter the disaster affected areas to distribute supplies and serve the victims directly and work with the front line rescue team hand-in-hand.
In the early stages of the disaster relief, the front line team engaged in immediate relief activities by distributing food, tents and supplies to the victims in the disaster areas. ROLF also sent a 3-man crew to work with the volunteers in China and go to the most severely affected areas— An Township of MianYang county and BeiChuan Township—to participate in the relief activities. In the later stages, ROLF continued to sponsor and build the medical stations in the LiangHe village and LongXing villages in the An Township.
