The Free Income Tax Return Service of River of Life Foundation is held every Sunday afternoon during tax season, from February to April of each year. River of Life Foundation is a certified IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) center; all volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS, and all Free Income Tax Return services are conducted through the IRS website.

We serve the families/individuals of whom the annual income is below $50,000, and we try out best to help them obtain Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Appointments with a brief introduction are required.

Tax payers need to bring:

• Photo ID
• Social Security Cards and Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents or ITIN.
• For married couple filing joint return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms.
• Education expenses for you, your spouse, and dependents (Form 1098-T)
• Wage and earning statement(s) from all employers (all W-2, 1098, and 1099)
• Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
• A copy of last year’s Federal and State returns if available
• Bank Routing Numbers and Account Numbers for Refund Direct Deposit (or a void check)
• Charitable contributions, donation, home mortgage payment (interest and taxes-see Form 1098）, and un-reimbursed medical expenses
• Total paid for day care provider and the day care provider’s name, address, telephone number and Tax Identifying Number (the provider’s Social Security Number or the provider’s business Employer Identification Number)
• If renter, need landlord’s name, address, telephone number and Social Security Number or the Business Employer Identification Number
