River of Life Foundation is a 501(3) charitable organization founded by a group of Chinese American volunteers. We believe that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” and would like to be an active participant in helping the impoverished and suffering. We hope to consolidate the resources from the Chinese American community to help the less fortunate who may be unknown to parts of the world but are in great need of help so that they know they are not forgotten by the world. It is also our wish that through the active charitable actions, our donors and supporters may gain appreciation and contentment of what they have and become happier persons.

A 501(3) Charitable Organization founded in May 2007

River of Life Foundation is composed of a group of volunteers. Only 2% of our raised fund is used for administrative expenses. The remaining 98% are all spent directly on those who receive our help.

Since founded in May 2007, we have instituted and participated in a number of charitable actions or services, which include:

Food pantry and clothing closet certified by Second Harvest Food Bank

Free tax return service center appointed by IRS

Holiday Plaza Seminar: Every month, we invite professionals in different fields to deliver seminars on various topics that may be helpful to our community. Topics that have been covered include: healthcare, relationships, taxation and financial management, education, travel…etc.

Sponsored the handicapped children in Naning, GuangXi Province, China to receive rehabilitation, therapy, and training for independent living skills.

Cooperated with the charitable organization Touching Hearts to locate children with congenital heart disease in Tibet and help them to receive treatment.

Purchased and delivered gifts to children in West African in Christmas season every year.

Disaster relief for Haiti and SiChuan earthquakes and Taiwan flood: We responded immediately to disaster by going to the affected regions and working with either government agencies or other charitable organizations to provide clean water, food and other supplies. We also participated in the post-disaster rebuilding and recovery projects.

Other than direct donations from individuals, corporations and workplace, River of Life Foundation also holds an annual fundraiser to invite those who share our vision to support and get involved. Also, we welcome volunteers who are either experienced or interested in resource management and event planning. While an individual alone may not be able to change the world, the united force of the many can truly make a difference. Many a little makes a mickle: your support may change many people’s lives forever.
